The 3 month countdown…

The date is set. It is now official that the second ever Winchester Fashion Week will run from the 9th to the 16th June 2012. Following last year’s resounding success, a collaboration of young creative students and volunteers are working hard to make this year’s Fashion Week one to remember.

With all the excitement this year from one of the country’s best London Fashion Week seasons, the  pride associated with hosting this year’s Olympics and with the Diamond Jubilee celebrations on the way, this is a great time to be celebrating all things British. Winchester Fashion Week’s contribution to these amazing events is to dedicate Winchester Fashion Week 2012 to all things Best of British, our theme for the week.

Winchester Fashion Week is proud to champion new and local homegrown talent in the fashion and creative industries from around the Winchester area. From the first event ideas to masterminding, booking and organizing the complete schedule, the models, writers, stylists, photographers and designers, everyone involved in this project is part of a local, young and independent team.

2012 can expect to see even more fashion revelry than 2011 with a timetable full of events for all ages. Exhibitions, creative workshops, addresses from fashion industry insiders, catwalk shows, a vintage day and a frock swap all culminating in the much anticipated return of Cirque Du Fashion Shows at the Winchester Guildhall as well as much, much more!

With support from Winchester City Council and Winchester BID, Fashion Week provides a unique addition to the Winchester Festival Calendar and in collaboration with Toni & Guy, Capital FM, Winchester Discovery Centre and The Brooks shopping centre amongst others; Fashion Week embraces the business community in the week’s exciting events. It really is a local affair, because we love Winchester and all its diverse and creative community has to offer.
