WFW Day 2 / The return of The Vintage Fair

The second day of Winchester Fashion Week saw the Vintage Fair once again packing the Guildhall. As usual, there was a rush when the doors opened at 12, and the buzz continued well into the afternoon.

All the old favourites were there, including Winchester’s very own Charming Magpies. Karen Harris was pleased to be back, with a great £5 rail full of goodies! Also returning were Classic Vault, Matilda Wren, Little Treasures, Little Old Me and many others.

There were also lots of new traders with everything from vintage bric-a-brac to bespoke millinery and jewellery stands. Another rather unusual addition to the fair was ‘Vintage in Print’ who had a large selection of vintage prints of fashion photography and a treasure trove of vogue covers, all beautifully mounted and ready to be framed. With a wide variety of prices, I was sorely tempted!

We also played host to Betty Buff Skincare who cater for sensitive skin, with all-natural sugar scrubs and moisturisers. The range is aimed at those with chronic dry skin such as eczema but with ‘fun and sassy’ packaging and a great range of flavours. I was even lucky enough to get a sample pot of the cotton candy sugar scrub! It smells amazing and leaves your skin feeling so soft and clean that I would recommend it to anyone! They were giving everyone the chance to try it and really getting into the spirit of the vintage fair.

The atmosphere was full of the excitement of good vintage finds, with a great mix of music playing and plenty of people browsing and buying. I was sorely tempted by several sequined dresses, a tea cup and saucer set, but resisted until I found a leather satchel bag and soft patterned scarf. With so many traders now accepting card payments, it is even harder to resist!

So, after another great Vintage Fair, I am now ready to step out in style at the other WInchester Fashion Week events.
